Global Eagle Entertainment Inc. (GEE) (NASDAQ:ENT) today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Emerging Markets Communications (EMC) a communications services provider to maritime and other mobility markets. The combined company will become a leading provider of global satellite-based communications and media content serving the rapidly growing aviation and maritime markets and select land-based markets.

SES S.A. (NYSE Euronext Paris and Luxembourg Stock Exchange: SESG) has agreed to increase its interest in O3b Networks (O3b) to 50.5% and, in doing so, will take a controlling share in the company. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals which are expected to be completed during H2 2016.

Intelsat S.A. (NYSE: I) powered by its satellite backbone, today announced financial results for the three months ended March 31, 2016.Intelsat reported total revenues of US$ 552.6 million for the three months ended March 31, 2016. Net income attributable to Intelsat  was US$ 15.3 million, or US$ 0.13 per share on a diluted basis for the three months ended March 31, 2016. The company reported that adjusted net income per diluted common share was $0.31 for the same period.

Iridium Communications Inc.

Telesat Holdings Inc.  today announced its financial results for the three month period ended March 31, 2016. Telesat reported consolidated revenues of CDN$ 235 million, an increase of approximately 3% (CDN $6  million) compared to the same period in 2015.

SintecMedia, a provider of broadcast management software announced that SintecMedia’s management team and Francisco Partners, a global technology-focused private equity firm, have acquired SintecMedia from its existing shareholders, including Riverwood Capital.

ORBCOMM Inc. (Nasdaq: ORBC), a provider of Machine-to-Machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Skygistics (PTY) Ltd. and its South African and Australian subsidiaries. Based outside of Johannesburg, South Africa, Skygistics provides a broad range of satellite and cellular connectivity options as well as telematics solutions centered around the management of remote and mobile assets to more than 250 telematics and enterprise customers.

CANAL+ Group, through its subsidiary THEMA, announces the acquisition from Eutelsat Americas of Alterna’TV, a Miami-based content distribution company. Alterna’TV is a content distribution platform that provides principally Latin American channels to cable and Internet TV operators in the United States. It currently reaches over ten million subscribers across the Americas.

The transaction includes a long-term agreement for the lease of capacity on the EUTELSAT 113 West A and EUTELSAT 117 West A satellites.
