The General Shareholder’s Meeting of HISPASAT, the Spanish satellite solutions and services operator and provider of the Red Eléctrica Group, has unanimously approved today the annual accounts for 2021, in which the company reached total revenue of 181 million euro, which represents a 14.9% increase over the revenue earned in 2020.

Cincinnati, OH, April 23, 2022

GatesAir a provider of  wireless, over-the-air content delivery solutions for radio and TV, today announced that Thomson Broadcast has signed a definitive agreement to acquire GatesAir from an affiliate of The Gores Group. The transaction is subject to certain regulatory filings and is expected to close in the second half of 2022. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

The NAB Show, the world’s largest annual conference for broadcast, entertainment and technology professionals, will host attendees from 154 countries and exhibiting companies from 38 nations at the 2022 NAB Show from April 23 – 27 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in  Las Vegas, Nevada.

Attendees from outside the U.S. make up nearly one-quarter of all pre-registered 2022 NAB Show attendees, which closely mirrors the 2019 NAB Show percentage.

OTT TV episodes and movies revenues for 22 Asia Pacific countries will reach US$ 52 billion in 2027; up by 62% from the $32 billion recorded in 2021 according to Digital TV Research. From the US$ 20 billion additional revenues, China will add US$ 3 billion, India US$ 3 billion, South Korea US$ 3 billion and Japan US$ 5 billion. Indian revenues will more than double.

Much of the growth will go ahead outside China. The Chinese government’s clampdown on fan-based culture hit reality productions hard, resulting in SVOD subscriber growth deceleration.
