Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NASDAQ: CMTL) announced today that during its fourth quarter of fiscal 2020, its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., which is part of Comtech's Commercial Solutions segment, received $1.3 million in orders for advanced satellite modems, WAN optimization and redundancy switches. The equipment will be utilized to support cellular LTE backhaul for a service provider in the Middle East.

HISPASAT, the Spanish satellite telecommunications operator, has joined the 3GPP group (3rd Generation Partnership Project), a global association that develops standards for mobile communications, in order to work on the integration of satellites into the 5G ecosystem that is being developed. Comtech EF Data Corp. received a delivery order in support of a recently awarded contract for engineering services from a large prime U.S. Department of Defense (“DoD”) contractor. This latest delivery order is for US$1.8 million to support a critical Air Force and Army Anti-jam Modem (“A3M”) program under the U.S. Space Force’s Space and Missile Systems Center (“SMC”). The $4.7 million contract has been funded US$2.3 million to date.
