With the aim of continuing to expand cellular coverage to the entire Mexican territory, one of the largest mobile operator in Mexico, part of a leading global mobile group, has resumed the satellite coverage project in alliance with AXESS Networks, which continues to position itself as a technological partner in cellular backhaul solutions for Latin America and that after outstanding work during the homologation process, was initially awarded with 95 satellite sites.
For more than two and a half years, this mobile operator began its deployment of satellite connectivity in the most remote areas, a focus of work aligned to government requests, with more than 1,000 sites that will provide 2G and 3G coverage, delivering high-capacity channels (25 / 8 Mbps) that will benefit thousands of people from the most vulnerable and excluded communities from connectivity, especially now in order to mitigate the impact presented by the pandemic by helping in tele-education, tele-work and tele-medicine.
It is noteworthy that this mobile operator implementation includes, in addition to satellite technology, microwave and fiber technology sites, giving greater reach to its network.
The communities that will benefit are impatiently awaiting the arrival of a complete commercial offer at competitive prices, a fact that the satellite connectivity implemented by AXESS will facilitate, thus reducing the technological gap.
The joint work between the leading mobile operator and AXESS as technological partners continues so that by the end of 2020 the goal of having all the required satellite sites active within the established schedules is met.
This implementation, together with the one previously published on Altán Redes, shows that two of the most important mobile operators in Mexico have satellite cellular backhaul solutions designed and implemented by AXESS Networks, their technology partner, who supports them in expanding their coverage throughout the Mexican territory.
AXESS Networks is one of the main companies that offers satellite telecommunications solutions with global coverage, to companies with critical operations in remote locations. Currently, it has presence in more than 50 countries distributed over 4 continents, with a work team of more than 200 highly qualified employees and more than 1,000 clients. AXESS has a global infrastructure recognized by important entities around the world such as the WTA (World Teleport Association), which allows it to operate three teleports located in Germany, Mexico and Colombia, as well as two other alternates in Peru and Dubai.
