The company was founded in 1946 by William Walton, Sr. originally to do electrical contract work for companies like Western Union, RCA and Comsat. In 1979, William Walton, Jr., present President and Owner, took on the considerable challenge of fighting the harsher elements of weather that affect satellite communications. Since then, Walton De-Ice has become the world leader in manufacturing the highest quality, cost effective De-Ice Systems for earth station antennas ranging from .60 meter to 32 meter in size. For more information go to www.de-ice.com

Over 40 Years of Protecting Antennas from Snow and Ice

Early de-icing products designed by Walton De-Ice included a plenum design which enclosed the entire back structure behind the antenna then forced hot air into the enclosed space keeping the reflector surface clean of any snow or ice accumulation. The original Hot Air De-Ice System is designed for antennas ranging from 4.5 meter to 32 meters in size. Perhaps most importantly Walton De-Ice specializes in Ka Band signal protection featuring the most advanced Temperature Balance Control (TBC) system on the market today. Walton Hot Air De-Ice systems provide even thermal distribution on all points across the antenna reflector regardless of the season

Walton De-Ice also designed and patented a line of de-icing systems called the Snow Shield, designed and manufactured for antennas ranging from 0.60 to 6.3 meters in size using a PTFE Coated Fabric stretched over the satellite antenna. This system can include automatic heating and remote activation & monitoring.

Never ceasing to find the best way to protect your signal from the effects of adverse weather Walton De-Ice then researched, tested and developed the Ice Quake, An automated system which sends a vibration through the Snow Shield cover preventing any accumulation of snow and ice in front of the reflector surface and has proven to be the best method of de-icing for Ka Band antennas up to 6.3 meters in size

With it’s Patented Technology the Walton “Portable Radome” provides protection, for VSAT terminals up to 5 meters, from wind, blowing sand and dust, rain, snow and ice. Designed not only for military use but commercial end users as well the Patented “Portable Radome” is your best solution regardless of geographical location
