HISPASAT, the Spanish satellite operator and satellite services and solutions provider of the Red Eléctrica group, is once again attending the Mobile World Congress. MWC is the leading global trade fair in the connectivity industry, held in Barcelona from February 28 to March 4.
At stand 7C50, the company will show visitors its latest satellite connectivity news for remote and mobility environments. The stand will feature a demo of the new 100 Mbps satellite internet product that HISPASAT is offering wholesale, open to all telecom operators. The exhibit will also include different applications for the Internet of Things (IoT) that HISPASAT has developed in order to provide added value and promote complete digitalization for these types of surroundings in areas such as municipal governance, smart livestock management and comprehensive forest protection, among others.
For land mobility solutions, the stand will also show visitors a self-pointing satellite terminal that is easy to integrate in any type of vehicle and requires no specific operational expertise in order to work. The presentation will also explain how HISPASAT is working on integrating 5G networks and satellites aimed at autonomous driving in the Darwin project. Lastly, HISPASAT will present a variety of innovation projects focused on new technological solutions to help digitalize remote areas, like the rollout of 5G cells with edge computing services, the use of IoT technology for monitoring rescues and emergency situations and drone connections to provide surveillance for vital infrastructure works. On Wednesday March 2 at 12:30 p.m. HISPASAT will also be at the MWCapital stand (4G100), where it will jointly present the pilot satellite connectivity project in remote, high mountainous areas that the company will develop in collaboration with MWCapital, the Conselh Generau d’Aran and Arantec. The presentation will feature the CEO of HISPASAT, Jordi Hereu, together with the CEO of the Mobile World Capital Barcelona, Carlos Grau; the secretary of Digital Policies of the Generalitat de Catalunya, David Ferrer; the head of the local govenrment of Aran, Maria Vergés; and the CEO of Arantec, Eisharc Jarquet.
