HISPASAT, the Spanish satellite solutions and services operator and provider of Redeia, together with NAGRA, one of the world's leading independent provider of content protection and multiscreen television solutions, are presenting the television as a service solution for Latin America, Wave OTT at Europe’s largest multimedia solutions trade fair. This new product will be exhibited at the NAGRA stand (1C81) at the IBC 2022 fair, which will take place in Amsterdam from September 9 to 12.
This service allows pay television operators, Internet service providers (ISP) and regional content companies to offer a high-quality multi-screen entertainment service to their clients through the internet without the need to roll out their own infrastructure. This helps reduce the initial investment as well as the time required to launch the service.
The service combines the NAGRA OpenTV Video Platform backend and the signal reception and processing infrastructure managed and operated by HISPASAT. The service includes advanced OTT market functions, such as Catch-Up TV and Network PVR, multiple audio and subtitle options, EPG and backward EPG, TimeShift, recording management, parental controls, content search and recommendations. The solution also offers both linear channels as well as VoD services. The service can also be offered through user applications with the operator’s brand on different devices, including Smart TVs and hybrid decoders (STB).
HISPASAT, Redeia’s satellite services operator and provider, offers satellite broadband and connectivity solutions including Internet access, mobility and the expansion of cellular networks, as well as other added-value proposals, to governments, corporations and telecommunications operators in the Americas, Europe and North Africa. It is also a leader in distributing Spanish and Portuguese audio-visual content and broadcasting important digital platforms such as Direct To Home (DTH) television and High Definition Television (HDTV), in addition to managing transportation and audio-visual signals from HISPASAT Peru’s teleport in Lurín.
